WINTERIZE & DECOMMISSIONING

When the time comes for you to put your vessel to bed, we are here to assist you in any way.  This is probably the best attention you can give your boat to hibernate safely over the cold months. We have already had many new inquiries regarding Winter storage.  While we like to accommodate as many boats as possible, we are on a first come first stored basis and our yard will fill up quickly.

We encourage you to reach out to our Service Department with any questions about Winter Services and the hauling process. We are here to help you navigate the process and best practices for prepping your boat for winter conditions.

All requests are scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis. We will not be sending any forms in the mail. The forms can be found below. They are also available at the Marina Service Center. If you would like to receive your forms in the mail, please email your request to storage@capeannmarina.com.

Please keep in mind that all service and yard requests must be submitted in writing. Please read the information below to proceed. Cape Ann Marina is not responsible for damage to vessels caused by freezing temps or late haul out requests post November 1st. Customers should expect up to 3-week wait times for service requests submitted after October 15th, but there is no guarantee.  Don’t wait until the last minute to submit your requests.

Send in your agreement with us now to secure a spot and beat the Fall rush.  This takes some of the pressure off of you and helps us with our yard coordination for the upcoming season.

Simply click on this link and it will bring you to a fillable Winter Storage Agreement for 2023-2024.  Please use one Agreement per boat.

Helpful information about Storage –

All Storage Package Types (with the exception of Wet Winter and Trailer – Storage ONLY) include Haul, Pressure Wash, Blocks/Poppet Rental, Storage and Spring Launch

LOA – Length Over All – This is measure from the Tip of the engine in the upright position to the Tip of your bow/pulpit or Anchor (farthest point). However, if your vessel is stored on a trailer, it is calculated at LOT – Length of Trailer which is measured from the Tip of the engine in an upright position to the Tip of the tongue of the trailer.  We reserve the right to measure any vessel for an accurate length and adjust contracts accordingly.

Wet Winter Storage – vessel is stored in the water only. Please make note of these dates on the contract 10/05/2023-04/15/2024.

Tender Storage – If your tender, on its trailer, exceeds 15 ft. LOT, it will be billed as a standard Trailer Storage rate of 31/ft x LOT.

If you are a multi-hull vessel, a houseboat or other non-standard vessel please contact us for availability and rates. (978) 283-0806

Environmental Fee is 3%. This is located at the bottom of the calculation form.  This fee is attached to ALL storage contracts and must be added in to your total due.

Storage Summary

As a friendly reminder, a Winter Storage agreement is not considered valid unless ALL requirements listed below have been met.

  1. A Completed, Signed and Initialed Agreement from the current period. Do not forget page 2.
  2. Payment for the storage by one of the methods listed above.
  3. A current and valid Certificate of Insurance is on file. (See instructions on the Insurance Requirements Form which you can forward to your Insurance Agent for processing.)
  4. A current copy of your vessel Registration or Documentation for the vessel is on file.
  5. Your Account Ledger with us is in good standing, meaning all past due balances are paid in full. This includes prior Storage Agreements, Work Orders, and retail purchases. You can contact the Business Office or the Service Coordinator if you have any questions regarding the status of your account ledger.

If you are transporting your vessel to or from the Marina via land you must call and make a reservation with the Service Coordinator.  If you are transporting your vessel via water, you need to contact the Service Coordinator AND the Dockmaster for arrival times and instructions.  This is critical – any vessels without reservations could be turned away.  Plan ahead.
