FALL/WINTER MARINE SERVICES

2021-2022

We hope you have enjoyed your boating this season, and  appreciate your continued loyalty to our businesses. With Fall right around the corner, it’s important to start planning for your off-season.

In order to help us schedule your haul out and winter services we require that you submit your service requests 30 days prior to your requested service date. Please keep in mind that Cape Ann Marine is not responsible for any frozen water system or related damage (i.e., water heaters, fittings, hoses, tanks, etc.) if your requested work date is after the first recorded freeze or submitted too late to act upon. When you drop the boat off, don’t forget that Mile Marker One Restaurant is also open for food, drinks and to-go.

We recommend bi-annual service for our vessels. This is because problems occur during the winter months due to sitting, such as: issues with the fuel system, electrical issues, corrosion, etc. For these reasons, we will not change fuel filters in the fall unless specifically requested to do so.  Fall services are especially important to prepare for the next boating season.

All winter work projects such as: electronics installations, fiberglass repairs, new boat bottoms, engine repowers, re-wires, steering system services, fuel injector services, fuel polishing, painting, etc. must be submitted before January 1st, 2022 in order to guarantee project completion for Spring 2022. It is helpful to submit projects you have in mind at the time of your winterization.  Be sure to fill out the Winter Work Request Form.

Also we hope you choose to store with us for the winter, so be sure to fill out a Winter Storage Agreement. Please complete the form and send in with your additional service requests.  We anticipate selling out for winter storage, so it is best to get your agreements submitted with payment to secure your spot, and we will take requests based on completed agreements with payment in the order in which they are received.

We do our best to place winter storage boats in order of timely return to the water in the spring. Due to operations and resort parking we need to clear our parking area as soon as we can in the spring. Starting June 1st any boat on a trailer or trailer itself left on site will be charged a daily storage fee. This will also apply to those that have a summer storage or year-round agreement in the water.  Please make every effort to have your boat ready, launch request submitted and boat trailer removed prior to May 15th to avoid additional fees. If your trailer needs to be stored in the summer with or without a boat on it, we can also accommodate you.

Please note that all unpaid work orders and storage bills must be paid in full prior to scheduling new work, hauling, or leaving over the road. Haul and Service requests will not be entered on the schedule if you have not COMPLETED the requested paperwork (below), provided your keys and emptied your holding tank.

Haul and Service requests will not be entered into the schedule without KEYS or LOCATION, and an EMPTY HOLDING TANK, and COMPLETED PAPERWORK.

Shrinkwrap requests…we do not remove canvas or Eisenglass.  Also, if you are requesting shrinkwrap, specify whether you would like mildew boxes placed on board. All sailboats must remove sails before the boat is hauled out of the water, no sails are to be raised or lowered on land. During the inclement winter weather, there is an inherent risk of wind damage to shrink wrapped boats. Additional fees may apply to installing more support for railings and flybridges as we see necessary. Cape Ann Marina is not responsible for any weather-related damage.

If you have further questions about winter or year-round storage contracts, or to schedule dockage for your haul out, please contact Karl Lang, Dockmaster, at dockmaster@capeannmarina.com, (978) 283-2116 x 455, or cell/text (978) 325-1121. If you need to drop your boat off by water prior to hauling, daily fees may apply without proper reservation of dockage. Arrangements must be made PRIOR to arrival and with permission.

Thank you for your cooperation. Have a great rest of your boating season!
